Clifton upon Dunsmore Primary School seek new Governors

The Governing Body of Clifton-upon-Dunsmore C. of E. Primary School have vacancies for three Co-opted Governors.  Applications for these roles will be considered from parents/guardians, members of the community or anyone who is interested in joining the Governing Body of Clifton Primary School.

Under new Government guidelines Governing Bodies are required to have a balance of skills and interests, therefore, we are particularly interested in applications from people that may have legal, HR and possibly financial experience.  However we would consider your application if this is not your field of expertise.

As a Co-opted Governor you would normally serve for a period of four years. The L.E.A. is required to provide training for Governors and you will have the opportunity to undertake a course at a future date.

There are approximately six full meetings per year and you would also be expected to serve on one of the sub-committees.  We are looking for someone to devote time to playing a part in the school’s future.  Governors are involved in helping to work out what is taught in the school, how the school is run in terms of discipline and behaviour, with the appointing of staff, and the administration of the school’s financial affairs.

The last date for receipt of applications is Tuesday, 28th February 2017.  The Governing Body will then consider all applications with a view to appointing the successful candidates. If you are interested, please send a covering letter and c.v. to
