The Connecting Clifton event will run from 10am until 12 noon, with tea and coffee available throughout the morning.
The event has proved very popular with many local groups and organisations wishing to attend to promote their activities and services to local residents, so the decision has been made to move the event to the larger upstairs room. Access is available for those who cannot use stairs via a chair lift. If you do need assistance to attend the event please call 07786 102789.
The aim of the Connecting Clifton event is to improve communication, engagement and understanding of what the Parish Council does and the services other local authorities supply on behalf of residents. The Parish Council is creating a display of their history, assets and current projects to demonstrate their activities; to encourage more local people to stand as Parish Councillors at the local elections on 5 May.
Commenting on the benefits to local residents attending the event; the Chair of the Parish Council Councillor, Marion Nash, said:
“We really hope to engage local residents who may be interested in becoming a Parish Councillor. I get a sense that we have not publicised our work sufficiently in the past so that local residents enough about the activities of the Parish Council and what being a Parish Councillor entails. If our residents are curious, this event is a perfect opportunity to find out more.
Teams from the Borough Council, the developers of the Rugby Radio mast site and our local Neighbourhood Watch will also be attending Connecting Clifton, as will many the local groups which are active in the community; the event is a great opportunity to find out what is happening in Clifton now and the changes for the future”.
