Criminal damage at the Sports Pavilion

Over the past few weeks 2 windows have been broken at the Sports Pavilion in South Road, presumably in the evening once parents and carers have left the park.  This is in addition to a similar incident in March this year and recent damage done to the external seating at the pavilion. The Police have been informed, and are investigating the vandalism as criminal damage.

The windows will be replaced on this occasion, but the Parish Council will now have to consider investing in other measures such as metal shutters or CCTV at the Pavilion.

If you are a parent or carer of someone who uses the park in the evening, please take the time to stress to them that this anti-social behaviour is both dangerous to younger children using the play area and costly – ultimately parents or carers of the culprits are paying for the repairs via their Council Tax.
