Would you like to have a go at playing Tennis – for free?


The weather is improving, the nights getting lighter and the tennis season has started. If you would like to try your hand at tennis then Clifton Tennis Club is offering some great opportunities for you this year; don’t miss out.

Social tennis is available on Thursdays evenings from 6.30 contact Steve Woodford on 01788 561996 or Margaret Mckernan on 01788 544456. If you do not want to commit to joining the club before you have tried our social tennis then just come along on Thursday evening and have a couple of weeks for free before deciding.

Club sessions are also held on Tuesdays from 6.00 pm where there are opportunities to play league standard tennis and to be selected for the Club’s teams. Contact James Waghorn on 01788 570794.

We intend to offer junior tennis coaching again this year in conjunction with Sue Robinson and Clifton school. Contact Steve Woodford on 01788 561996 if you are interested.

The Club’s AGM in March saw Rod Dolman (Watling St, Clifton) elected as Chairman with Steve Woodford (Shuttleworth Rd) Secretary and Lesley Edwards (Rugby Road) Treasurer. John Ardern (North Rd) James Waghorn (South Rd) and Andy Sheppard (Crick) were also elected as members of the club committee. Clifton Tennis Club has frozen its annual membership for yet another year; Junior £15, Intermediate (16 to 20 years) £20, Adult £45 and Family £80.
