Report from Clifton Neighbourhood Watch – November 2018

CLIFTON NEIGHBOURHOOD WATCH

At the time of writing there was one crime, on the A5, during the last period. Incident No 232 02/10/2018 – Watling Street, Clifton – 50 gallons of diesel has been stolen from a Caterpillar digger.

The Clifton Community Speed Watch team has started monitoring the speed of traffic though the village with the following results in the 20 mph zone: Lilbourne Road, 32 vehicles checked one doing 27 mph. Rugby Road, 36 vehicles checked two doing 25 mph and one doing 26 mph. More checks to follow.

The police have warned of many scams about at present so please be careful with: Mattress sellers; House insulation; Apple Pay; Spotify Premium; TV Licence refunds; Landlines being hijacked; HMRC refunds; Sim card swaps; Phone and Internet Service providers threatening to cease your service. Please remember the MOBILE POLICE STATION is available for you in Lilbourne Rd from11.00am to 12.00 noon on specific dates. The next one will be advertised on the villagenotice board.
